Rack-n-Pinion
 

Anyone ever replace there rack-n-pinion themselves cause mine is leaking badly and I need to either re seal it or just install a new one, how much work is it cause I have one day off this weekend and I would like to attempt to replace it or fix it, my local garages all quoted me about the same $300-$350 for replacing it with a new one.

its a pain in the a@@ to do. the lines are a pain to get off the rack without braking them not to say the rack it self is a pain to get out because of the oil pan but other wise its straight forward pop the tie rods the 2 mounting bolts and the retainer bolt for the streering shaft
