Had the same thing happen to me. Theres tow things that could have happen, either you put the gasket on the wrong side or the thermostate slid out of the grove in the housing causing it to leak. Good Luck.

thaks for the help!but do you know why i am leaking out of the water pump??????????

93CobraR 04-21-2001 08:54 PM

I doubt it's out the pump. It just might look like that because it's seaping threw.

vande97 04-21-2001 10:10 PM

well i can plug up one one weep hole on the bottom of the pump and then it starts to come out of the top one. ?????

I agree with it might be the Thermo slid and it crushed outside the groove on the housing, If you take it out add a little gasket sealer and then put a new gasket on , let it sit for 15mins or so to let it set-up then install it. If it is leaking out the weep holes on the pump the water pump is bad, I would suggest a Stewart Componets high flow pump it works great for me. $69.00 non-polished $89.00 polished.
