welding SF connectors
 

Will a muffler shop weld on Maximum motorsports standard sub frame connectors? Do you know how much they will charge if I bolt it on and prep the surface?

Where else can I get them welded on?

iu would recommend taking it to a body shop cause if your frame is bent or you have something funky going on they will be able to spot and fix it there. you want the car to be level, straight and off of the suspension, when you weld your sub frames or your car might sit crooked after words. i recommend going to the track and find a body man that is racing and ask if he could do it on the side for a couple of bucks or a speed shop that does installs.

There is no way my frame is bent. I bought it from a 60 year old man, when it had 60,000 miles. I've had it for 3 months.

THE CAR ABSOLUTLEY HAS TO BE ON THE SUSPENSION SO THE CONNECTORS WELD ON STRAIT. YOU WILL RUN INTO HUGE PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD IF YOU WELD THEM IN WITH THE SUSPESION UNLOADED.

Muffler shops have the types of lifts that raise the car from the wheels, thats why I might take it there. Any labor estimates? I never pay labor so I have no idea. I know the going rate is $60 an hour, but it will only take 10 minutes to weld it.

well i dont know which sub frames you have. the ones i welded in mine were competition engineering and that was what they said to do and what some chassis shops said. and my car sits and launched straight. your frame might not be bent but if you have been to the track with slicks you might have a little tweaking of the torque boxes ,which while you are at it should be welded completely also, will make it hard to install.

i not sure of the labor rates were you are but down here its around 60 -70 dollars an hour

I would not get it done at a muffler shop they use a light weld and is prone to breaking I would go to a driveline shop and have it done. as for labor I dont know around here they charge 80-100 an hour
