Edelbrock vs Trick Flow Heads????
 

I am going to buy some new heads very soon but I'm torn between the Edelbrock and Trick Flow heads. I was told to go with either the 1.60/1.90 performers or the 1.60/2.02 trickflows. I'm not going to do any other upgrades this year asides from heads and have mac 1 5/8 shorties as the only other upgrades.I also don't want to flycut the pistons.Asides from the new heads everything will stay stock for this year. Help please.

I went with the edelbrocks.

I am happy with my Edelbrock Performer RPMS.. but also upgraded alot of other things as well.

I went with the edlebrock's for my 392 stroker buildup. I've heard that I might have made a bad mistake due to the large cubes v. relatively low flow #'s. The heads are very nice though, and my engine builder is very satisfied. tThe motor is going together in about 2 weeks so I'll let you know.

None of these people have given you any reasons as why to choose their head. So maybe you should listen to me here. I went with the TFS head after some research. Bigger valves, and MUCH better flow numbers. You dont have to take my word for it, check out www.fordmuscle.com they have many aftermarket 5.0 heads all flowtested on their site.. The TFS pretty much comes out on top. Not to mention they will run with high timing and low octane gas, which is pretty nice considering the spiking gas prices.

You can see my motor combo, VERY simple, and still smog legal, and runs 12.5's in a fairly heavy chassis.

well the reason I picked the edelbrocks is because everyone that I talked to that had the edelbrocks said that they have had them for anywhere from a year to four years without any problems. trickflows make good power no doubt but I don`t think they have the quality of the edelbrocks.

Edelbrocks are easier to install, much higher quality, and a good street head. Trick flows are a little cheaper, flow better, and make a little more power, depending on your application.

Want do you want?

I would go with the AFR's at this point, they are real nice, although a little pricey.

It all depends on what you want to do. Trick Flows are cheaper, but they don't compare to Edelbrock's quality. If you spend the little extra on the TFS then you'll have a good set of quality heads. The Edelbrocks flow quite well, not as much as the TFS, and still make great power across the RPM band.

I'm really happy with my Edel. 6032's, I'm glad I went with them, I know that the TFS would have made more, but really I didn't need that. I wanted good streetability and reliability. Hope that helps.

The quality of the casting of the Edelbrocks is better, & if you want to hog them out in the future, they respond very well to porting.
