~Going Saleen~
 

Hey this is my first time on mustangworks and I read the forums so I am hoping I get good response to this. I am 16 and me and my dad are working on my baby which is a 96 GT hardtop. I want badly to turn it into a Saleen and dad has finally agreed. The problem is I can't find anything parts wise. Ground effects are few and far between and no one has a clue as of where to find them . I also need just about everything else. If anyone has a clue or opinion on making my car a Saleen instead of original please respond!:p

You can purchase the Ground affects from Saleen. BUT I've heard many horror stories about them in my years here. Such as them requiring up to 1500 dollars worth of prep work:eek: On the other hand, I've heard the fit no problem......so I'm up in the air about that.

Are you just trying to make it looks like a Saleen or make it perform like a Saleen too?

I am sure you can find them at www.saleen.com. I am not sure of whoever else sells the kits besides i know cervinis does for fox bodys.

Hey guys I want it to look and perform like a Saleen and Saleen.com doesn't have the ground effects for sale all they have is the stickers and some run of the mill stuff!

Saleen most certainly has the ground effects for sale, and there are countless auctions on Ebay for replica kits. I have also seen several ads in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords for the kits.

As for prep work horror stories, that is applicable for ANY fiberglass/polyurethane aftermarket body kit, for any make/model car. To be safe, you can pay the Saleen premium price, and run less of a risk, but there never is a surefire guarantee.

You may run into nosey people that will comment how your car will end up being a Saleen "fake". Ignore it, and advise them to invest the free time they obviously have into improving their own ride. I'm going to search the Saleen site and find exactly where the kits are, Ill post again when Ive found them.

Now I found all these sites in about 5 minutes. I'm not sure why you couldn't locate any, but if you merely type in "Mustang Body Kit" in any search engine, it should be relatively easy to locate these and many others. Can't really comment on the quality except for the actual Saleen kit. I have one, and never had any problems. Good luck.
