Got my exhaust!

I just got my exhaust for my 90gt , Just a few questions I ordered it all from mustangs unlimited, I got MAC equal length shorty headers and an stainless off road H pipe but the H pipe came in two peices, is that normal cause tommarow i'm gonna install everything and take it to the welder to get it all welded I just dont wanna run into any problems after I get under the car. I was gonna go with dual chambered flows with dumps or turn downs, lemme know if i'm missin anything here, thanks.

Sounds good, usually the h-pipe comes in two pieces to make the initial fitting easier. Do you have gaskets and the pipes that go from the h-pipe to the mufflers?

No I just have the headers and H pipe what else do I need, I wanna go with dumps so you think the muffler shop can just weld on pipes and hang the mufflers for me?

Most exhaust shops won't touch an off road exhaust setup, it is a big insurance deal because it is illegal to put on a vehicle that isn't "off road". They also don't like helping you weld the mufflers if they are dumped because of the potential hazard of the gases coming through the car. But I'm sure we all know the one place in the local area that will do just about anything! Good luck, you have everything you need.

Go around to some exhaust shops, some of the guys will do work on the side for cash. I go to midas right down the road, the guy there will weld whatever and usually does it for a good price.

I found a place that will make my pipes and brackets to connect two dual chambered flow masters to my H pipe and install the turn downs for the dumps for $300

I'd probably go to jegs and get the short pipes that go from the h-pipe to the mufflers. Flowtech makes a set of 2 1/2 inch "starter tubes" for $29.00 (part#387-53609). Then I'd get everthing assembled and drive it to the shop so all I had to pay for was the welding. Even if you had to get a set of clamps to hold things together till you got there, they would only be a few dollars plus you wouldn't crimp any of the pipes as long as you didn't tighten the clamps down too much. I would think someone would do the welding for under $100. You could pick up a set of turnsowns at almost any parts store or even Meijer's, or the shop should have them.

That was also including the 2 dual chamberded mufflers, the place charges about $115 a peice to mount and weld flow masters onto a car.

I'd try around some other shops, midas mounted my girlfriends muffler (welded two joints & bent up and welded two hangers) for $30.00 - the day before that he bent up a piece of pipe where her resonator used to be and welded it up for $30 also. I don't see welding up a set of mufflers/turndowns/hangers being much more work at all, so $100 would seem reasonable, not $300. You could go out and get a small mig welder for $300. I would definitely shop around before paying that much for what you need done. If you want, you could just mail you entire car/mufflers to me and I'll have the guy by me weld it up.

I need the 2 mufflers and 2 1/2 pipe that connects them to the H pipe thats why it was so much i just have the stock 2 1/4 pipe he was gonna make me the 2 1/2 pipe and sell me two new flow master mufflers

OK, I'm an idiot. That doesn't sound too bad then. Sorry
