Turn signal blues...
Ok I am hoping you guys can help me here. It seems when I use my turn signal, either left or right, sometimes it will work, and sometimes it will freeze either on or off. Other times it will just get real dim and REAL slow. I changed out the flasher fuse for the flashers and the brake light, and of course no such luck. Do we have a turn signal relay somewhere that may have gone bad? I am stumped with this one. Its kind of annoying, and with the way they drive here in New Mexico, it won't be too long before somebody hits me.

you said you replaced the "flasher fuse" but did you replace the flasher itself? i dont even think there is a flasher fuse... and check to see if all the bulbs are good..
take care, adam |
Ok, they work most of the time. In fact, they work all the time, except that they run pretty slow at times when flashing, and sometimes freeze when they flash. So sometimes it just looks like I have my parking lights on. This happens both it my lights on and off. Doesn't matter what time of day. It seems when I messed with fuse box by moving it around since its not screwed in like it should be, it would work better at times and then it would go right back to where it was the first time. Does this help anymore?

Have you checked the actual round flasher itself. My dad's '87 Jeep Cherokee did the same thing and i'd kick the fuse box (at the flasher) to get it going again. It should be right there on the fuse box. It may also be an intermittent or weak ground, so that would be something to check. Also, take out the flasher and check to make sure that the wire terminals aren't corroded, broken and that they're not stretched open.
Good luck, keep us posted! |

ill say it again, replace the flasher...

Replace the flasher and if it still does it then you have a bad/intermittent ground somewhere (indicated by the slow flashing and dimness).
