What is the difference between 2 and 3 chamber muffler?

I would like to know what the difference is between the 2 and 3 chamber Flowmaster mufflers. Besides the price, is there any performance difference?
Thanks

The 2 chamber will make more power because it is less restrictive, but is louder. The 3 chamber will make less power, but is a bit quieter because there are more baffles to muffle the sound. Both will add more power over stock mufflers. Personally, I think the 2 chambers are too loud unless you want max power. There is maybe a 1-2 HP difference between the 2 and the 3 chamber.

Two chambers have two chambers for the air to flow throuogh and Three chambers have three chambers to go through. I perfer 2 chamber. It is alittle more than two or three hp.

why get chambered mufflers? Dynomax and Magnaflow are a flow though design. I just like the sounds of them better, can't really stand blowmasters to much!

A whole cat-back is only worth like 5hp. The hp difference between mufflers is very small, just get what you like.

tireburner's right. Thats why I bought the GT takeoffs. Adds about 5 HP, sounds great outside the car (nice deep rumble), only slightly louder inside the car, and 1/3 the cost of the other kits. Didn't want a car that was too loud or obnoxious.
