Best cam for my ap?
I'm planning on stuffing in a new cam next month, and I'm kind of confused on which would be best for my car. I'm running Edelbrock Performer Heads, TFS track heat intake, 30# injectors, 190 lb pump, 75mm MAF, 70mm TB etc etc. I'm planning on squeezing 125-150 shot of n2o next year, and I want the best ca for n/a and n2o applications.
How is the Comp Cam xtreme energy cam (either .509/.512 w/ 1600-5800 rpm range or their .519/.523 w/ 1800-6000 range)? They're only $169........whereas say AFM wants $269. Are they almost as good as Anderson cams or nowhere close? Thanks for the help! |

what you have to decide on is your power range, peak power, the whole 9,most of AFM cams are custom ground to a certain application,so that is why they are on the high side of the money scale. You cannot beat a custom cam period, you get exactly what you need, but be warned, when you call a cam grinder he is going to ask you some very detailed questions, after all they want you to have sucess with their product. All the cam companies will grind you a cam to your specific needs,to the powerband you are looking for the whole 9. |
Thanks Carl. But is their custom grind gonna be $100 better than say the Comp Cam xtreme energy cam w/ the similar power band???
