Auto Tranny in 2000 V6

I have herd that the auto tranny in the 2000 V6 stangs, well all the 99+ stangs is a really stong and durable tranny if it is taken care of. but what i want to know is, is the 99+ auto tranny in the 6's the same as in the 8's? like if i buy a B&M Hammer Shifter for 99+ AODE tranny's will it fit my car or do the 8's have different tranny's?

I believe the AODE is different between 3.8's and GT's. The shifter mechanism is the same, but the linkage cables from the shifter to the tranny are different. Don't know if the are compatable or can be modified to work.

Thanks 99Pony, was wondering cause i know that all the mustangs use the exact same frame and bodywork and wiring systems and all new mustangs are wired for every possible option, Like my base 6 has the same wiring as a convertable cobra... and i have heard that saleen buys 6's instead of 8's then buys the 8 blocks separate cause the six body has everything they need and its cheeper. il ask around at some shops and let ya knwo what it is.
