This may sound like a stupid question but are there oils that run cool or dissapate heat better than others?? Bout to go on a "trip" and just wanna do whatever I can ... Also I've heard of coolant that I think ... evans or something like that .. that I saw used in a rally car... any good for the street?? thanx

well to start. Synthetic oil takes a lot longer to break down than organic oil and is alot less likely boil/airate because of heat. That being said thicker oils like 40 weight stand heat very well (if you look at the heat ranges of oils, mixed viscosity oils with a 40 weight have a high temperature resistance). 10W40 or 15W40 should work well i'm guessing, i think 20W50 would be kind of overkill though. good luck and have fun on your trip.

Synthetic oil will not cause sludge build up in your motor. Synthetic oil also flows more freely so it can take more heat away from moving parts in upper and lower end of motor. I use amsoil in motor, trans and rear end of my mustang. If you need more info tap me a line.
