a/c compressor won't kick off.....
 

I posted this on a couple other message boards so some of you may have seen this already.........

My a/c compressor won't kick off unless i unplug it. Is there a switch besides the one on the dash that controls it? It works fine, i mean it's cold and all. I looked in the chilton's manual for a relay or switch and i couldn't find anything. Hopefully someone here can help me with this annoyance........

Does it sound real whiny, almost like a supercharger? If so, mine is doing the same thing, althought I only notice it when the car is not warmed up.

Sorry it took so long to check the post.......

It works just like normal, no whining. It just won't shut off when I turn the a/c off. It runs all the time unless i unplug the plug on the side. It even runs when i start the car which i'm sure is killing my starter. I've sord've put this problem on hold because now i've got a bad valvetrain noise.......But if i could figure this out it would be great.......
