carb'd 1985 block fit?

Does anyone know of any reason why a carb'd 1985 block wouldn't fit in a '66 Mustang?

Thanks,

it will fit... but... different balance... so you need the later flexplate or flywheel... the later balancer has a different bolt pattern for the pulley... so... you'll need an aftermarket balancer if you want to use the early accessories.. and... if it's going into a stick car... you need an adapter for the block side z-bar mount.. later blocks dont have a mount cast in,..:D

thats cool... you'll need an AOD flexplaye then... pretty sure it works with a C-4 too...:D
places like mustangs unlimited sell the balancer you need... later balance... but with the 4-bolt pattern for the earlier pulleys :-)
