exhaust questions...HELP ASAP!!!!!!
I'm looking at this Flowmaster exhaust for $280 + shipping......
http://ebay1.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_...b6d6f4/i-1.JPG and also this mac one...... http://ebay0.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_...b6f4ee/i-1.JPG for $300 + shipping.... Which one would be a better exhaust system for my 2002 GT 5 speed? By better I mean more power, and i guess the loudest. Would both or any void warantee? All I have right now is K & N drop in filter. Also, does anybody communicate threw AOL Instant Messanger? It's a hell of a lot faster then talking through message boards...Thanks again... |
I have flows on my mustang, and it really sounds good around 2000 rpm's. I can also feel a smoother throttle response and a slight more grab at high rpm's. However, I would like my muffler's louder. I read an article at www.mustangworld.com where a guy did some slight modifications to make his louder. As for the warranty, i dunno...i've far surpassed mine. I also don't know much about mac exhaust systems.

also, if you do go w/ the flows, 280 seems pretty steep. I had my entire set done for 190 at my local muffler shop.

as far as your flowmaster goes, what did you do, just the mufflers? Or did you also put on bigger pipes from cat back? How many chamber mufflers did you do?
|
2 chambers, stock front, 3" rear. I was listening to it today as i was driving and it really does sound nice and deep. No rice burning weed-eater noices...I have a five speed, and when I down shifted, there was a nice low rumble (not like straight pipes w/ no mufflers/cats, but a deep sounder gurgle). I would recommend flows, i love mine. If i could, I would get the cat system (mine has six cats), but I'm short on funds now...

Titan, I agree with the flowmaster sound, it's great. So you think I should get Flowmaster American Thunder which is a cat back system with 2 chamber mufflers for $350 from summit or what? Anybody know where I can get it cheaper?!

okay, so i ordered 2 flowmaster 40 series 2 chambers tonight :) thanks for the help...

spintech
I just put the spintech pro series muffs on my mustang. Sounds good. check into them.

One nice thing about the MAC kit is that it is completely bolt-on - it has ball and socket joints to go over the axle without welding. The sound of the two is pretty similar.
