-------------------------------------------------------- Year/Make/Model: 2000 FORD MUSTANG GT Body Style: COUPE Engine: 4.6L V8 EFI 32V SOHC Fuel: GASOLINE Driveline: REAR WHEEL DRIVE Carburetion: FUEL INJECTED Cylinders: 8 Manufactured in: UNITED STATES -------------------------------------------------------- Uh, 32 valve SOHC? That can't be right??? |
Haha...you paid $15 to find out that???
|
There's more info than that bro. I just pasted a small bit of it.

Unless your valve covers are wider than normal, or you see 32V stamped on your engine... I think someone just made a mistake.. The people that type these up prob just type, they have no clue has to what they are typing.... Same in my field, most people that type of Engineering manuals have absolutley no idea as to what they are typing....
Would be nice if you had a rare 32V SOHC hybrid, or something!!! hehe |
I dunno... you tell me. Here's a pic of my engine:

hehe :-D |
here's the reply from carfax.com
Response (Chrissy) 08/05/2002 08:03 AM Hello Mark, Thanks for contacting CARFAX by email. This is likely a minor VIN decode error. These are frequently caused by the factory either not making the distinction (in the VIN) that you are looking at, or else they simply miscoded this car accordingly. From time to time we do see instances of VINs decoding a little bit off from the truth - subtype listed incorrectly, engine displacement off by some minor degree, etc. As long as the basic car is identified correctly, then there is no real cause for concern. The essential use for the VIN here is to simply make sure we are offering the history of the right car. Please let me know if you have further questions for Carfax. Customer (Mark Deaton) 08/04/2002 04:47 PM Hi I just ordered a report on my 2000 Mustang GT, VIN# 1FAFP42X6YF187279 Your report shows it being a 32 Valve SOHC, which I *think* is not possible. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Awaiting your response, Mark Deaton |
That would suck to have the extra valves with no cams to actuate them! ;)
