my white face gauges are here, I may have a problem...

First, here are the pics:

Now as you can see there are holes in the faces for the needles and for the stops.

Look close at pic 2, and 3. There are stops for the temp, and gas. I DO NOT have those stops on my 88GT.

This is not a big deal, it just may look a little funny.

What year stang had stops here?

I have a 1990 with the white faces. I went out and looked and I can't tell for sure if the stops are there (it is dark out and I didn't have a flashlight handy). But, install them anyway. The black part of the dash that hangs over the sides of the gauges once they are installed covers up where the stops would be, so they are not visible anyway. As I re-read my post, it sounds confusing, but go out and look at your current gauges and you will see what I mean ( assuming it is the same on an 88).

Hethj7 is right the black bezel covers the stops, I have the stops in my 91GT. Make sure you know where your stock needles are so you can try to put them back correctly. I put the gauges on, put all the needles on but the temp, then let my car come up to operating temp then put the needle on, I used a radiator thermo to check the temp.

OK, I looked at my car and you are both right. The holes in pictures 2 and 3 are actually mounting holes I think.

Regardless, all I have to do now is hit the junk yard to get a 140MPH speedo.

hey there, i have a 94GT and i changed the gauges as well, let me tell you what a ***** that was, first off, it involves needle removement. and once you do that, its f#@%^ed. the only thing to do now is to get your readinds re-calibrated by ford and only ford.
and to be honest with you, its not even worth it, i'm sick of mine and wish i never touched it

last but not least that money could have been spent on a mod instead.
