How to test fuel pressure?
Do I put the fuel pressure guage on the valve which is on the fuel rail or the fuel pressure regulator. Do I need a code scanner for the KOEO Codes or will my Walmart code scanner work that has a blinking light. I also have a real crazy question, because these mechanics say that there is some thing in the wiring system that tells what gear the car is in. I say that is only in the AOD because the transmission has a sensor on the speedometer. Thanks for the help.

The fuel pressure gauge is attached to the schrader valve, which is on the fuel rail, right behind the distributor.
Your Wal Mart scanner should work fine. Take care, ~Chris |
KOEO and Fuel pressure results
So I just ran a code scanner and a fuel pressure test. Engine light was not on but the scanner came up with 029 & 066. I haven't checked my material to reference the codes. Just wanting to get the ball rolling. I hooked up the fuel pressure test and it was 220 psi. I was not able hook it up when my car was having problems. But it seems to be enought pressure. Any input would be much appreciated.

Mistake on last log in
I believe my fuel pressure was 220 KPA instead of PSI. One of the mechanics that helped me said that it was plenty of fuel pressure for a GM.

I didn't explain my self.
I was ackowledging General Motors in general because the mechanic that helped me hook up the fuel pressure gauge only works on GM trucks and deisel powered snow cats.

Oh, okay. Check your other thread.
