My Crazy Ideas...
1 Attachment(s)
Lately I've been thinking far ahead into the future about what kind of automotive project I'll have, if any. All these plans will hopefully start to be fulfilled within a couple/few years after I get my master's degree (which will be 7 years from now:rolleyes:).
Choice #1: Do a few final mods to the Fastback (heads, radiator/water pump, electronic ignition; get it in the mid-13 range) then buy a decent '69 Coupe (in remembrance of my first Mustang:(), drop in a n/a 408W, 4-spd, 9" combo. Have the Coupe in the mid-high 11s with around 575 hp. Of course both of them will be painted the same color of yellow and have the same Centerline AutoDrag wheels. The Fastback would be more of a cruiser for casual times, raise a little hell with, have fun, take to the track every once in a while. The Coupe would be more of a serious street racing in perfect conditions/drag car. Choice #2: Build the Fastback up and drop in the 408/4-spd combo and get it in the 11s n/a. Forget about the Coupe. Choice #3: Do the final mods to the Fastback to get it in the mid 13s, then build a radical '77 Ford Econline van and get IT into the 13s. I've actually thought this out a little bit. Built 460/C6/9", mini-tubbed, DragStars or AutoDrags with slicks, custom stainless dash with aftermarket guages, painted a limish-green color (similar to the Mustang mower on Monster Garage) with some ghost flames coming up from the bottom. Have the Fastback and the van capable of low-mid 13s. The van would blow some people away, big time. Choice #4: Get rid of the Fastback and spend all the money on the van. Get the van into the 13s, maybe even 12s with the plans above plus some. Choice #5: Screw cars, they're money pits! Spend the money on something else! I am actually kind of serious about the Econoline. I even took the time to sketch a picture about what it would look like. It's not perfect, but you get the idea about the flames and all. |
just give me the fastback & build your van, hahaha. :D :D :p
|
Sorry Marty! That plan wasn't included in the choices! :p ;) :D

Do what I'd like to do: Build a BOSS 429 from the ground up, sparing no expense, with 12pt ss ARP's everywhere. Make it prettier than the engineers ever imagined. Then set it up in my living room.
:) Take care, ~Chris |
Do em both...
the Fastback AND the Coupe! SHAWEEEEEETTT! :D IMO of corse! (which really means nothing!) :) Wish I had such a pressing decision to make like that!
Hmm...the GTO or the Fastback...... TNT |
I think it would be sweet to have a both a fastback and a coupe with the parts you listeed there. Im not really into the van thing lol.
Later, Nick |
welll....if you like the van idea that much, then do the van and the coupe....your old coupe was sweet...if you made another one *drools*...
PWRWUD - does that mean youd build it in the living room? lol...start with just some spare parts lying around...*grin* |
i say the fastback and the coupe would be better and funner.
|
Don't be a van guy. In theory they are cool, but people will look at you funny.
I would say go with the fastback and coupe. However, drop the 408 in the fastback and put the original motor in the coupe. |

Right on. I appreciate you being willing to give up your GT so willingly, but I assure you it will be dusted and polished every week. When do you want to drop it off?
