gear ratio

i cant seem to find the answer to this question, i have a 2002 mustang gt with manual tranny and dont know if the ratio is 3.27, or 3.55. please help

If you're the original owner it should be 3.27 stock. I'm pretty sure the 3.55's just came out from the factory only for the '03 Cobra's.

That's what I heard. The newer stangs ('99+) have a higher RPM power band, so they loaded them w/ 3.27's. Not positive, but it's what i heard.

get under the car and look at the axle tag says what is inside

All stock 99+ GT's have 3.27s.

side note: cobras had them since 96 for sure, maybe earlier and lost them in 2003 and they now have a 3.55.
