Never thought this would happen.
 

Well, I just started college the 19th and it looks like i'm entering an automotive program where i get all of the traning to get my ASE certification. The only problem is that its that the program is sponsored by GM. To get all of the credits in the program so that i can get my Associates Degree and the GM certification I have to work at a GM dealership for the next 2 years because I get college credit. I haven't found a similar program anywhere that is sponsored by ford so i guess im stuck. I am going to work at a GM dealership. Hell must be getting pretty damn cold about now. HAHAHA, I wore my Ford Racing hat the first day of class.:D

Hey man thats cool though. As long has you can get some kind of ASE certification. 2 years shouldnt be too bad though :D

Here the program is sponsored by Ford :) Ive been thinking about maybe doing it but im not sure yet. I guess it depends on where you live.

Maybe you will learn WTF those guys mean by 'lid' and such. Just drive the Mustang to work, that will say enough. People may attention to what their mechanics drive. ;)

well I'm in college now, and my last summer I worked at a ford dealership doing small mechanical repairs (oil, tires, fuel filters, belts, plugs...) and then this summer I did the same thing at a Pontiac/GMC truck dealer. And from the work that I did, and the help that I gave to other mechanics, I HATE to say it, but it seemed to me that GM cars are actually a little easier to work on than Fords. I'm not saying that it is a proven fact, just something I observed in the short time that I have put in. Must be why they paid 0.4 hours for an oilchange at Ford, and only 0.3hours at Pontiac:)

Now reliability is a whole different story:D

I think the extra time was for oil draining from the Ford Motor. The GM's are empty after 3k miles.

I'm in the Ford ASSET program which is a 2 year dealership co-op working/class program just like the one you're in. I've heard that the GM program is pretty good. I'm not sure if there even is a Ford ASSET around where you live. If you do an online search you may be able to find something if you actually want to work for ford. I've worked in this program for a year and i absolutely think the program is great. Awesome work experience and great learning materials.

Alot of new GM and Ford cars are garbage, but i think both manufacturers have some vehicles i like alot.

oh yeah.....once i get out i'll have most of my ford certifications as well as ASE and soon after getting out of school i'll have a chance to become a ford senior master tech after passing L1 ASE drivability test.
This means i get to have an award and i think a week long boat cruise :D

Hey, I saw go for it. If you can fix a GM, you can fix anything. Stuff literally FALLS off my Beretta as I drive it.....:(
