I was at the store the other day and I overheard two ricer kids talking about cars. They had an import mag they were discussing. I joked with them that they should look at n American muscle car mag if they wanted to see a fast car. One of them asked me how fast American cars were. He asked me if a Mustang or Camaro could run 13's. I told him that some guys don't consider their cars fast until they've hit the 10's. These 2 guys looked at me like I was lying. They both said they didn't know American cars were capable of being that fast. The one that did the most talking told me a friend of his had a honda running high 14's and thought it was fast.
Someone has seriously misled these kids. Hopefully they will be more interested in American muscle but I doubt it.

I was talking to one of my ricer buddies today and he is hoping for 16's in his Del Sol (he is well aware of how slow it is) especially after I wasted him by like 2 cars in my MINIVAN! Anyway, I told him he should aim for high 17's. This thing is a POS. 105hp stock. Most kids just cause domestics gas guzzlers. I don't get it though, what's the point of buying a 4cly putting like $5k in it to make it faster and then worrying about gas. Pretty stupid people if you ask me. I would of told those kids about the new Cobra. Please remember not all kids are stupid, just the ones that's parents did drugs in the 70's..... I'm lookin' towards you Marty. :p j/k with you again.

I guess to much lovin', I always tell my dad if you make me sell my car I'm going to buy a Civic and put a Big FREAKING wing on it that does nothing and park it in the driveway so that the neighbours know you ruined your sons life.
But I got great friends that will kill me if I ever result to that level. :D hehehe....

Let them wallow in their ignorance. I personally LOVE this ricer phase. .....bc you KNOW that 90% of the cops out there feed on that ****. They see a freakin LIME GREEN civic with ORANGE on the side and they can't WAIT to sink their teeth into that kid's *** with big fat ticket.

Most of the locals around here would sooner pull you over to just get a look under the hood of you 5.0 or 4.6......just does NOT happen to ricers. "Hey man, lemme see your HUGE 1.2 liter!" Bwahahahhahah

My rule is if I buy more liters in milk then the displacement in my car then I don't want it. :D There all just a bunch of milk bag engines. I mostly get dirty looks from cops, You know a 17/18 in '69 Mach 1 painted bright yellow is bound to do something stupid. :D But I do get the smile from alot of cops too. I know they'll pull me over one day for something I didn't do, just a matter of time. :D

I figured out a long time ago that I am by no means 'young' anymore.

Kids graduating from high school this year were born during Reagans second administration and things like 'the cold war' and the Berlin Wall belong soley to their history books. Conisder they were 5 when the wall came down. 'Reds' has no connotation of communism.

Now that is a generation gap. No wonder they all want imported cars, the hayday of 'import performance' was when they were growing up. Same reason we all want big blocks and toploaders.

I too saved that, I've been looking for a nice setup like that. I think most kids who have these Rice cars, got into it for Three reasons. 1: There parents never owned a Muscle car; 2: If there parents did, the kids something fast but never could affored a good Muscle car. SO they bought a rice car, then saw eveyone else try to make them fast. 3: or just had to join the "in crowd".

Im gonna have to agree with him on that part actually. The day i got my speeding ticket last year some ricer got one too. The next day i heard that the cop made him open his hood and wrote him tickets for having a cold air kit and a header that sopposedly wasnt legal in california :rolleyes: But anyways all the cop did to me was ask me what year my car was and he told me that it sounded nice :D Even though he still gave me the ticket lol :(
