Unemployed
pony_power_90:
Sorry to learn about your job loss. Been there...it sucks. Unemployment pays about half of what you made and it only lasts six months but that should be more than enough - unless you have really big expenses or a tough time finding a new job. Your ex-employer may not give you a great recommendation (if any) so this could be a problem if you're staying in the same field. Hope not. You'll probably land another job and be fine but next time, I would start paying a lot more attention to detail when you get an evaluation warning about it as I assume you're in a job where detail really counts. Speaking as one who has been in management, I can advise you that once a problem with your work has been pointed out to you, do what you can to fix it of course, then, ask the boss how you're doing. Don't simply assume that if they don't say anything you're doing fine. Usually, if you don't improve, hints are there but at some point they just write you off. Often, it takes awhile before they actually let you go as they seek a replacement or you finish an ongoing project. I've been on both sides of that situation; been the supervisor and had to recommend that someone be replaced and I've also been the guy who was replaced - and I never saw it coming - or ignored the signs. I know better now and so I'm offering this advice to you for what it's worth. I wish you well in your search for a new job. |

good luck in finding a job! |
I know how you feel, I have been laid off for 2 weeks now and I'm really feelin' it. Unemployment only pays a max of $250 a week:( . Hopefully it's more where you are at.
