A few ?'s

Hey guys, I just picked up a bunch of parts from one of my buddies and included were a set of ported gt40 irons and a cobra intake. They use a Fel-Pro 1250 gasket. To how much extent have these heads been ported. I have not yet picked up the intake from him, so I havent been able to see if any port work has been done. Are any of you guys familiar with the 1250, and how much porting has been done to fit it? Also included in all the stuff was a 65mm edelbrock throttle body, fms 1.6 rockers, lifters, pushrods and all that crap. Can anyone tell me how strong this stuff would run with mac LT's, cold air induction, 75mm mas air, underdrive pulleys, and all the free mods? Thanks in advance, John

fel pro 1250 is the standard port job most shops do it is quite a bit bigger than the factory e7te cast iron head ports and should flow really good for your application.

Well now this kid decided that he does not want to sell the cobr intake and tb. I am pretty pissed off right now. I ended up paying 300 bucks for the ported heads and the 1.6 fms rockers. What should I do about the intake? If I pich up another one do I need to have it port matched to a 1250 also? Also what intakes would work well with those heads, I know they arent spectacular. Thanks alot, John

Intake does not have to be port matched, so any intake will work.

For GT40 iron heads, look for a cobra intake, or an edelbrock performer, maybe a street heat.

they are all basic street intakes and will work well with heads from stock through ported aftermarket aluminums.
