has anyone ever driven their 1994-95 mustang gt in the winter, and if so what was it like.

Yep. Used to live in Edmonton, Alberta. Drove my car several years in the snow. Let me put it to you this way: Mustangs SUCK in the snow.

There are a couple of things that you can do to help, but the best thing to do is get another car for the winter.

1. GOOD set of snow tires (this is a MUST)

2. Weight in back end (I used to put 4 sand bags in my 95 GT. 2 in the trunk and 1 behind each seat)

3. Change how you drive. The 5.0 has a lot of torque, you're going to have to be real careful when you drive. I found that stopping and turning were OK, even better than my wifes FWD cavalier (you have that heavy V8 out front). But soon as you hit the gas your a** end is going to go sideways.

i drove my '95 cobra all last winter and i think it handled pretty good the main thing is just to take it easy it probably would have been even better if it was an automatic though.

I drove my 91 GT Conv. all last winter and I have to again this winter. I have a set of studded snow tires that I put on every mid-December. With the studs, I fly through the snow. With that BIG V-8 I can go through almost anything with studded tires. I've ripped through ice and all sorts of things. You might even say its actually kind of fun to drive in the snow with good tires. The only thing is, when the storms get real bad, I put some weight in the trunk and then I'm fine. One thing you have to be carefull of though is all the sand and salt. Its not really the snow that destroys cars, because all it really is is condenced water. I powerwashed my car everyday when it was too salty out. Luckily I survived the winter with out getting any rust on my car, but I did get some paint chips.....

buy a winter beater your mustang will app it even if you make it through with no accidents you still will have abused the car by exposing it to the salt and grime of the winter roads just my 2cents plus if you encounter any trully snowed over roads forget it i had to stay in a hotel one night when i was younger because i couldnt go 5 ft without sliding
