ATTN Cali Mustangers!
In case you have not heard, the CHP has purchased over 70 new Camaros for their taskforce. I heard heard alot about them, including the new LED lightbar which is small and hard to see in the rearview mirror. This weekend I was at a MotoX Freestyle event in San Francisco and they had one of the new CHP Camaros there. Thought you may want to study the pictures so you won't get caught.

Just what we need, more chp:rolleyes:. Hopefully most of them are going south. Sorry Chris, but I don't them around here.

Off topic, but the LS1 is a 346, not a 350.

That thing is just plain evil looking. I heard that "officially" those are going to be for semi patrol, meaning their main purpose in life will be to target tractor trailers. I don't understand why they need such a car for such a purpose, but that's what it said on the paperwork that the Governor signed. Of course we all know they will be used to bust anything and anyone they can, but we're supposed to feel a little better knowing that they will see the majority of their service life on highways that are common truck routes.

Any chance that they are using the older motors? |
That's all fine and good Chris, but the 'main truck routes' are generally long straight high speed areas. Seems like its Davis' way of backdooring these cars into high speed catchers.
Of course, there is an all white one based in San Jaun Capistrano (which we will drive through to C-bad) and I've seen it with 18 wheelers twice, nothing else. Maybe they figure it will help confuse them, since the average Joe doesn't look that hard for the Crown Vic's. Expect to see at least one on the 101 at or north of you too. |
I got my info on a news special, and they really emphasized that these were to be used on semi's. They also referred to several state highways, most in central and northern Ca, that are almost exclusively used by truckers, mostly going east west. I had never heard of the highways they mentioned, but i'm not really concerned. Got a hunch that's gonna change in a couple weeks. ;)
Take care, ~Chris |

They may say that they are for semi's, but u don't need a car that can go 159 to get a semi, I know that they are going to use them to get us too. |
I just saw one of these about two weeks ago, nearly had a heart attack! The one I saw was all white though, in San Jose.
Be Careful! :D - Errant |
I just saw an all white one out here on Hwy. 12 the other day. The only markings it had were the badges on the doors and it had a light bar inside the car. Luckily I always let folks get next to me before I try to race them, otherwise it would be hard to tell they are CHP Camaros.
