Data Plate

I PICKED UP A 1970 MACH 1 MUSTANG FROM ARIZONA, AND THE DATAPLATE WAS A PAPER PIECE NOT METAL, AND WHEN SOMEONE REPAINTED IT THEY KINDA PAINTED OVER IT AND THE TAG HAS STARTED TO DISSOLVE. i'D REALLY LIKE TO FIND OUT, THE COLOR, AXLE, TRIM, TRANS, THAT IT ORIGINALLY CAME WITH BUT I AM UNABLE TO USE MY DATA PLATE. IS THERE ANY WAY I COULD FIND THAT OUT? I HAVE THE VIN BUT NO OTHER INFORMAION SINCE THE TAG HAS STARTED TO DISSOLVE. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP ANYONE COULD GIVE ME. THANK YOU.

1) Call FOMCO at 1-800-392-3673 and ask for a history 999 report. You will need your VIN. They are free but have some errors. Gives all info. on data plate plus options

2) Get a Marti report (more consistant data), costs around $40
