1967 mustang lights flickering??

Hi, My lights (headlights, taillights, dash lights, dome lights)and ammeter needle flicker only when the car is running and it starts to flicker after about 10 seconds after the car has started. To me, it sounds like the external voltage regulator, but I just replaced it, along with the alternator. Has anyone had this problem?? I can't figure it out!! Thanks, Grayle

Yup check your ground wires ie. eng comp., under dash, battery ect. Don't just make them tighter but clean the conections and the contact points where they connect to the body. "All surfaces" should be dirt, oil, paint and rust free.

Light switch.

They do this when they go bad.

Hi, I replaced the switch, but that didn't work. I have good continuity between the engine and chassis, looked for bad, rusty, or corroded grounds and guess what, it was the voltage regulator. My dad has a 1973 chiltons covering cars from 1966 to 1973. It tells how to check the voltage regulator and when we checked it it was bad. Never again will I buy stuff from NAPA!!!
