Central Coast Mustangs 302's

Well, it's final. The head gaskets on my GT are gone, the oil pressure...dropping. I'm probably going to order the GT-40P long block from Central Coast but don't know about their customer service/quality. It'll be the E-cam version since my cars an AOD. Has anyone dealt with them in the past? $1900 for that motor is a screaming deal!!

I bought one last year. It's a long story, but I ended up with a Crane 2031 cam in it (my doing, not theirs). With a Cobra intake, 65 mm throttle body, 24# injectors, headers and exhaust I hit 277 RWHP on the dyno - not bad. You will have to buy the GT-40P headers from them or FRPP, although some people claim to have gotten away with using BBK shortys. Dennis Hilliard seems to know his stuff.

CCM has excellent customer service. I was very pleased with my experience with them, and would recommend them, although I never bought a motor from them.

One suggestion though, stay away from the E-cam with an AOD. I had that same combination, and it wasnt very good. The AOD needs a cam with a wider LSA in my opinion. Good luck.

What cam do you guys suggest? I'd like to make decent power and have a noticible lump in my idle. I don't want to give up my AOD, though.

Withamc, that's good to hear. I'm thinking of buying a new shortblock for my GT soon.
