Newbie here-hello

Hello all. I have been posting on other mustang message boards and found this one, this one is really great!!!!

I have an 86 mustang gt vert, and a 72 2 door maverick 302. The mustang has the typical "10 minute tune up" flowmasters, etc. It has a pro 5.0 shifter.

I picked up a 8.8 rear out of an 87 tbird turbocoupe. This rear has the 3.73 gears stock and is four lug with rear discs!! Best 175$ bolt on ever!! This, along with some MAC upper and lower rear control arms will be going on in a few weeks, as soon as I finishing settling into my new house and clear all the boxes out of the garage, and fix my broken tbird. That POS t bird was supposed to be my trans car, I have 6g left to pay on it, and have not driven it in 7 months, oh well

Anyway, just board and rambling here. Look forward to chatting with all of you.

Welcome to Mustang Works! I'm sure over time you'll realize this is one of the best mustang websites out there. There's plenty of friendly, knowledgable (sp?) people here. Take care, Keith.

Thanks for all the responses!!!

Crazy Horse GT, If that 74 Maverick is available, pick it up!! The cars are perfect sleepers. The 2 doors weigh in well under 3000 lbs. You should check out the Maverick message board at WWW. Maverick.to

Dark_5.0---Congrats also on your new house, and I am going through exactly the same thing as you. This is our first home, and naturally it was a complete fixer. I had saved up not much, but a few thousand dollers. EVERY penny of that has gone into the house! Damn, I had damn near enough to restore/mod my stang, oh well. But on the bright side, I now have a place to work on my car.

I found a couple of pics of my cars. The Mav is in original Beat condition. However, now that I have my house, I am picking up a junker 87 mustang gt convertible and am going to use the 5.0 roller motor for the mav, I should get the junker stang this weekend(free car with all mechanicals and interior!!!)

The paint on the stang is decent pearl white. The interior is that thrashed ugly tan, and I have the plain 10 hole wheels.

Hey welcome to the site!!!

Hey, I already have a roller 302 HO motor out of a '89 GT if u want it. Complete exept flywheel. All for $800 Even have the wiring haraness too, and comp. Like I said, complete, running. It ran real good up till the day I tore the car down for parts. I bought as a parts car, but still drove it around. Nothing was wrong mec wise, but it was rolled. Let me know.

Jthompson 09-13-2002 02:49 PM

Thanks mustang man, unfortunetly though $800 is too much, with my new home. unless you want to trade straight across for the parts car I am buying.

I didn't see above that u were getting the car for free. I don't need another parts car, I got all I needed from the '89 I had. Since I'm selling the '79 when I get done and also I don't have the space to store anything. I kinda need to sell the motor soon when I get back, because it's at the shop, they are storing it for me till i get back, so if u have any friends who need s motor, let me know please, thanks.
