gas mileage

I'm getting 16 mpg, or 245 highway miles per tank on my stock 1993 GT AOD. By stock, i mean, s-t-o-c-k. Isnt that unusually low?

when was last tune up on your car?? 16 mpg is low thats more like what you should be getting around town. i have 3.73's and on highway i have gotten almost 24 mpg start by doing complete tuneup, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, change air filter, check tire pressure.

I'm getting 19 around home, and 26 on the road if I stay under 75mph.

My '89 is strictly stock as the day I bought it.

Ya, thats what you should be getting around town. You probably do need a tuneup, remember everything as stated above.

hmmmmmm......... if i go by my gas guage and my odometer, i only get 100 miles to the tank believe it or not. my guage cluster is out of a 4 cyl. could that have anything to do with it? i mean.... could it be reading empty when its really only half a tank. ive yet to record gallons and what not to figure it out.....how many gallons IS the gas tank in an 88GT??? would it be different than a four cylinder?? maybe the sending unit is screwed up?????
