Gutted stock exhaust
 

Has anyone tried gutting the cats on the stock exhaust system? I have gutted four of the six cats and welded them back together ( I cut the bottom sheild off and cut three slits in the cats and broke the cat crap out ). I know this isn't a good choice over the X/H pipe but I may try it to see how it works. My X pipe is REALLY raspy in first and second gear through 1500 to 2200 rpm. The rest of the time it sounds great! It is almost annoying with the top down so I may try this out, heck it's free! What do you guys think?

I have never done it on a newer car but it was worth 2 tenths on my 5.0 when I gutted the cats.
