I run my Nitto Drags at 25 psi for street driving.. At the track I run them at 16 psi. As far as heating them up, you really need to get em HOT. One guy gave me some good advise on how much to heat them. He said

"Do your burnout but just look straight ahead. When you start to see smoke coming around the doors and the front of the car, the tires are hot enough."

After they're warm, they hook like crazy. I usually launch at 3500 rpm and pull 2.0x 60' times. My times would be lower but I still can't bring myself to do a 4500 rpm launch. If you heat them up well enough and launch aggressively, you should have no problem getting 1.8 or maybe even 1.7 60' times.

My best ever on those tires was a 1.89 60ft time, but you may do better than me.

Yes, you need to get them REALLY hot to get them to hook, and dont expect them to hook well on the first night. This is why I didn't really like the tires, because I put alot of miles on my car, and those tired need to be really spun hard to get to operating temp and thus causing the life of the tires to be greatly reduced. They were fun while they lasted though (about 10k miles and 9months, if that)

oh yah, I ran mine at about 15psi or so.

Well I have got a 1.91 with the Street tires I had on there. If I get only a 1.8 I am going to pissed off!!! the seat of the pants they feel better But I dont want to waste them on the street.

If you really want to hook, get a set of ten holes and some slicks. I've heard of a few people getting some 1.7's out of Nittos, but I think my best was a high 1.8. I don't think I ever heated them up like an animal, I just spun 'em until I had some good smoke and backed off, anything more than that and I think your wasting your money. 16-18 psi is what I've run on them. If you got some 1.9's on street tires you ought to be able to get some 1.7's out of the Nittos. Just my .02

or if you want to get some miles out your tires get some dunlop 8000sp...ive gotten 1.9s,1.8s and even a couple 1.7's on em..and thats on a bone stock suspension 87 with no front swaybar..good eh!?
