Intake, or Exhaust ?
Hey, I have a stock, (except for a cold air induction system) 5.0 vert. I am debating over which to get, anew intake, (Trick Flow, or cobra) or a new exhaust system, (Most likely a flowmaster 2-chamber system. and prolly some new headers). What do u guys think is best to get first? I want to get whatever would add the most Horsepower. It is an 88, with speed density. But what do u guys think i should get next? I can't get new gears or underdrive pullies, or nitrous. So i am gonna have to just build up on the motor. What do u guys think?

Get 1 1/2" long tube headman headers. 2 1/2" H pipe built by your local muffler shop. And finally a pair of Quick Flow mufflers. With turn downs. It will sound tough, and pick up close to a 1/2 sec in the quater.

Go with the exhaust first because if you get the intake first your stock exhaust doesnt handle it to well and the intake doesnt work to its full potential

The 1 1/2in headders are better for the stock heads BUT what are your plans do you plan to get new heads laon if so get the 1 5/8in headders you have to have aplan then work on it that way knowing where you want to go with your car down the road.

I would recommend that when you do replace your intake that you have your heads ported and polished or buy new heads. If you do both at the same time you will see a bigger gain in HP.
As for what to do first I would do gears and exhaust first. DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT |
Just went threw the same delema with my 90gt and I went with exhaust ( MAC equal lenghth shorties and a off road H pipe with dual chambered flow masters) and it sounds nice, and by the way if you get equal length shorty headers there a pain in the *** to install but sound nice :-) just my .02
