Poly bushings??
Is it worth it to get the replacement polyurethane bushings for the stock upper & lower control arms? Eventually I might upgrade to some aftermarket tubed lower arms, but for now I'm just looking to replace the worn out stock bushings. It's been years since I've done it. Do I just pound the old ones out with a hammer??

For what it's worth,if your gonna pull the arms, replace them with aftermarkets,I did mine and it feels soo much better now,you have to replace the bolts anyhow in the lowers,so why not upgrade to better arms while you have them off.....BTW,they are a PAIN to do by yourself so have someone help you.

I installed a set of Poly bushing in all my rear control arms last night. I had the rear end completely outta my car building it up for drag action so I had the arms off the car anyway. I used a torch to get the old ones out. just burnt them out. They could be pressed out with a vise or press but I like fire...... :D I used a HEFTY amount a grease to install the new ones, I put grease on the arms and on the bushing when I pushed them in. Had to use a hammer a little to get them in but they really wernt that hard to do.

Poly bushings??
Yeah, I plan on doing it myself. I put new stock replacement bushings in the lower control arms about 5 years ago. But it had been so long I forgot if I used my vice or a hammer...or what exactly I did to get the old ones out and the new ones in. So how do the poly bushings feel in the stock arms? Stiffer, smoother ride? Is it worth it, or should I just wait until I can afford to get new upper & lowers all together? I'm on a budget and have many different areas of my car that need attention to (attention=$$). My car just had it's "re-birth", after sitting for over 3 years. So you could imagine I have a lot of things to go through, check, clean, and replace.

Did mine Sat. Use a 3/8 drill bit on a drill. Get on the edge of the bushing drill till the bilt comes out the other side. At this time the bit will start going round and round the bushing and the bushing will walk right out. This is the same method we use at work to remove propeller bushings for replacement. Some are harder to do than others, don't get frustrated. It took me 1 1/2 to do all of them. I also replaced the coil isolators.

Poly bushings??
Thanks for the tips guys. So can you feel the difference with the polyurethane bushings over the stockers? I'm sure the stock ones were worn out which is why you replaced them, but does it feel any better? Stiffer??
