Whats Better Holley Or Edelbrock

what do you guys think? whats better? Edelbrock carbs or holley.also what about intake manifolds. The only holley product i would ever buy would be a procharger for my mustang..and that becuase edelbrock dosnt make one.

Out of the box, Edelbrock carbs are more forgiving, but Holley's are much more fine-tuneable. I eat, drink, and schit Holley's. I can rebuild them in my sleep. In my opinion, Holley's are leaps and bounds better than Edelbrock's, but it depends on the user. If the user is clueless about Holley's, but thinks they know what they're doing, horror stories are usually the end result. BUT, if you know what you're doing, they're the best, IMHO.

Take care,

Other then Something I must be doing wrong because I was going through power valves like crazy, I prefer holley's to anything else. Carter is really good too, as my dad says, I don't know.

I would just look at the users, most are Holleys, but I agree the edelbrock is an easier carb right out of the box. But there are things I don't like about the edelbrock, one that I can't stand is the pcv hose coming out the front! It looks like an after thought.

I've always had best results with holley carbs and edelbrock intakes. Just my $.02

For racing, Holley makes better carbs in my opinon. Edelbrock carbs are nice and flashy, and that's about it. The only other good point about them is that the tuning screws are right there in front and not anywhere else. I'd go with an Edelbrock intake, though. I like choices that they have for Fords.

Daniel.

Finally?

Difficult for me to respond with the servers on MW the way they are.

I think the Edelbrocks are probably OK for low-medium performance. Aren't they really just modern Carter copies?

PKRWUD is on the money as usual. Holleys are infinitely tunable and the parts are available everywhere (O'Reilly's or order from Holley). You need to get a Holley book to learn all the ins and outs. Once you do that, tuning will help you a lot.

Demons (Barry Grant) are also a great choice. I use a Road Demon with super results. The only problem I had was with a cheap, poorly functioning electric choke. That's OK now after some tinkering. Holley components are used n the Demons, so tunability is the same.

I prefer the Elderbrock on the street. More user friendly when driving around. I have two on my car. Very drivable.

The Holley gets the nod for out and out WOT power.

But, that power valve thing is a pain in the butt. I know they are better now, and you can add the ball and spring thingy. But, have you ever been out in a boat rocking all over trying to change a Holley power valve????

I was planning on running a 600cfm edelbrock, on top of a weiand x-cellerator intake...... are there any problems there???
Theres only 1 intake that i know of by edelbrock for the 351c-2v heads. And the weiend is said to make more power....

The edelbrocks are the way to go with intakes. And i wouldve said Holley carbs a few years ago but now i definitely say demon
