engine size
Ok, i concured the old mustangs now i am on to 5.0's. I know some of the early 90's came with windsors, is there any way an 88 pack a 351? without a bore, what is the biggest size block it can hold!?

351w is a common swap, but you won't be able to keep the stock hood, you'll have to get a cowl hood to clear the intake. Maybe a carb engine would just make it, I'm not sure.
As for largest engine, I've seen 460's in mustangs. Not a simple swap but it can be done. ------------------ '92 GT conv. TFS heads, GT40, Powerdyne 9#, AOD, 3.73... |
From my short experience studying the 5.0 Mustangs it appears that a stroker 302 block is the best way to go. Even slipping in a 351 causes many minor changes which really pushes up the cost of the swap mostly if you want to run a EFI car with stock type accessories. The Cobra R was made from the factory with a 5.8 in limited run, and lots of conversion parts are around. Yes 460's can be made to fit, but expect to change lots of things and dont expect to pass emmissions etc.
