will 28x11 inch slicks fit???

this guy that I know said that he has a pair of slicks that he will sell me. They are 28x11's. I was just wandering if they will fit on my 88 lx hatchback on the stock 10 hole wheels that are 8 inches wide. Races are one week from today and I need to get slicks. I also need to get a pcv valve because there is too much crank case pressure, it is comming to the top of the dipstick tube.

ten hole are 15-7 and it would rub get some steel rims 15-10 check ofset for do you have quad shocks ect plus 28 will lower your final drive ratio just my 2 cents

I don't think a 28-11 tire will fit with out a bit of massaging the wheel whells. you don't have enough gear to realy use a tire that size, yes it will help traction but your car won't be up in the rpm range at the end of the track. also why is your friend selling them? they might be used up and he's trying to get something back out of them.

do not buy used slicks, especially in a size that you would question fitting....

i bought slicks from a guy that turned out to have severe dry-rotting. i was pissed.

plus, if your rearend hasn't been touched (besides gears) hope you have extra axles. the stock posi sucks in that 8.8, i already fucked mine up on street tires.

go with an auburn diff from ford racing. 250 bucks, will handle slick launches no problem, even with the 28 spline.

go with 26" slicks. that'll keep your rearend gear about the same.

Bluefox91LX I dont have the stock axles in it. What are the stickiest or best brand of street slicks that I could buy. I was going to get the Mickey Thompson but I don't want to put tubes in it. Also you told me to go with 26". is 10 inches wide fine?

yes go with the MT 26x 10's, I can tell you from putting 28 X 10.5's on my stang that there's no way in hell those 28 X 11's will fit, I spent three days and three trips to the track beating my inner fender wells to make them fit, the 26 X 10's will do you good :)

and make sure you mount them on 10 inch rims too or you'll sway all over the track at the big end, just some more advice :)

I can also attest to the fact that the 28x11's won't fit I had 28X10.5's and they rubbed all the time I had to do some creative banging on the inner wheel well the 26X10's will be good for 3.55's and will fit great with your 10 holes.

I have 28*11.5 MT ET Streets on the 15*7 10 hole rims and they do not rub. I took off the quad shocks though.
