Old guys beating up baggy pants is not cool

I've noticed lately that its become accepted for us old guys to verbally beat up on baggy pants teenagers. Hammer is a good example, even though I like him personally, at least on the net.

When ever was there a time when us old f****rs liked what the younger ones were doing? Never, that's when. fwd or rwd, does it really make a rat's *** if you love cars?

I remember when the controversy was flat heads versus ohv engines. The flat heads had all the after market mods, and were often faster. Then what happened?

Lets try to include these younger guys and not try so hard to alienate them. Any with much sense will quickly see the advantages to higher displacement V-8 ohv or dohc engines vs. the high buck 4 bangers.

We need the new blood, like it or not.

hey its a stereotype. kids with baggy pants usually have FWD cars which they think are fast but not. not all kids who wear baggy pants do this. how do you spererate the good from the bad? you know what i mean. just because kids wear the hats backwards, have baggy pants and listens to Limp Bizkit, doesnt make them bad or uneducated, but they certainly act like it! just like when i was their age minus the new fashion style. long hair was a no-no with my old man and i got ragged on by older people cause of my long hair, but i was a good kid. stood out of trouble for the most part and graduated high school. now did the older people know the "good from the bad" when i was a kid? same situation. it just part of society and growing up.

Our resposibility

srv1, it's our responsibility to know the the differece in how they look and what they think, at least in my opinion. I haven't had to make that decision in some time now since my boys are 26 and 31 years old now.

But judging young men requires more than looking at their pants (hair in days gone by). Let[s listen to what they say. That was my complaint then, and it's mine today.

i definitely agree with you on that. but most people judge a book by its cover rather than reading whats inside.

i usually wear baggy pants, USED to listen to limp bizkit (back before they got popular, now its Tool) and i have always been into hotrods, (i love old ford '36 coupes). lol, and don't worry i personally have never felt that you guys were going after every kid that wears baggy pants.:D out of some car sites i've been too (still lots i know i haven't seen) this one has been the most open minded and accepting one i've been on. alot of you guys have been passing on some good information to us younger guys and thats cool. later all, have fun

Wow Marty... I was expecting my name to be mentioned in there. lol Why can't you old people stop hating us young people so much. lol My generation buys shitty cars for you guys to destroy and provides you with endless humour on trying to convince you that we can beat you. Where would we be if we didn't have ricers... lol I wear 'baggy' pants but I have a 351.... Ya shouldn't always sterotype.... lol You don't think old people annoy young kids? With there 'crappy' (not all but some!!) music, all these lessons, and warnings, and don't do this, and then the best are when my dad is like I could of bought that car for like $2500..... you know how pissed I get when he is reffering to like a Charger, or a Cuda, or a Boss. He always has these stories about cars he could of bought for so cheap. He bought a Mavrick once for a case of beer! Ohh.... well. I can't wait tell I get old to tell my kids I could of bought a Honda but I bought a '69 Mustang instead! They'll be so proud of there dad. lol :D I'll be the coolest dad on the block. lol

I have a Limp Bizkit CD (not one of my favs, but it's aight), I usually wear baggy fitting jeans (not gangsta-gangsta style, but baggy), and I even wear my hat backwards sometimes. I hate ricers. I hate morons that think they know everything about cars when really they know jack ****. I'm a good kid. Don't hate me.;) :p j/k

I've noticed this topic in 2 posts now. Yes I'm young, yes I was once a punk (Jail time, fights, alcoholic, drug head, general loser). Even drove a four banger fwd for a bit. It was a Mercury Capri of 94 vintage. Damn nice car once you worked past the bugs. Also had a 87 1/2 Merkur XR4Ti for a bit. 4 banger, turbo but rwd. Very very nice car. But anyway getting off topic. Everyone is quick to judge someone by their exterior appearance whether young or new. If I had met half of you before I talked to you on here I prolly wouldn't like you as much as I do. I know the same goes for me. I'm aware that I dress like a thug but it is comfortable for me to do so. Marty is comfortable with his goofy long hair (j/k marty :) ) but I don't judge. Everyone sit back and think very hard of what this world would be like if everyone in it wasn't so judgemental. Makes it an amazing place doesn't it? Now wake the hell up!!! That is not how the world works no matter how much we would like it to. Everyone just has to do their very own best not to judge a book by its cover. I attempt this everyday and I have thug, redneck, old, young, poor, rich, idiot and smart friends. Take a step out of the dark everyone. You'll be surprised at what you find.

In defense of Marty, Jesus had long hair. (I used to tell my mother that.)

I form a opinion from what comes out of your mouth and how you carry yourself. A opinion based on clothes will suprize you. What does a drunk look like, or drug addict??
