New Car!

Well I got a 88 Merkur Xr4ti. It has a broken motor. I got a newly rebuilt 2.3L w/ a ported head and bigger valves with the car though.

It has stock injectors, 2 fuel pumps, stock turbo, 3" exhaust, turbo coupe intercooler, which is junk, it has a decent air meter I gues, and 3.65 gears in the back with a LSD.

If anyone knows where I can find some good seats and a windshield for it lemme know.

Thanks.

Skyler

How much did u pay for it?

I had a customer in Montalvo that had one of those, and I was impressed with it. Very comfortable, and surprisingly quick. The factory boost gauge is way off, so you might want to install an aftermarket one. Also, of all the cars I've worked on, that one was the most sensitive to having the plug wires near each other. They really need to be separated as much as possible.

I'll keep an eye out for a parts car for you.

Take care,
~Chris

I got it for $1500.

Yeah thanks Chris, once I get it running you'll have to come by and I'll let you take it for a spin.

Cool.

How's the interior? A/C? That's gonna be a comfortable ride when you get it done..

You lucky bast*rd!! heh Need info? Not a problem. I had an 87 1/2 and still have books of info cause i want to get another one. If ya need anything at all I'd be more than happy to help. I still have some really knowledgable friends I met when i had mine so if I don't know they will. Great car and once it's running and you get past the typical XR4 quirks, heh, you'll fall in love with it.

Oh yeah think I still have some spare parts lying around too. I'll check and see what I can find. I know I had an upper intake and throttle body, air cleaner assembly, umm had some hi-po parts but most of those are gone.
