65 Fastback Breaks Thru Barrier

It has taken a while, but the 65 FB finally broke the 10 second barrier and consistantly. 2 weekends ago it ran a string of 9.80's with a best of 9.84. Last weekend all 9.70's with a best of 9.74. Still have some tuning to do (timing & jetting) but things are looking up, so far I have only applied a 150 horse shot, pulled all the plugs between rounds, and no signs of any trouble. Looking forward to next season and stepping up to 200 and the final goal of 250 HP. Still no traction problems on the 10 inch tires, with consistant 60 footers at 1.37/1.38.

Those are some very impressive numbers, especially from an old car like that. ha, ha
What kind of setup are you running to get those results? I am running mostly in street trim due to being a daily driver but I am at an end to finding any more performance outside of nitrous and charging.

Without the N2O on the car runs high 10.60's. I also have the 347 stroker like yours, but most likely a higher C/R than yours. The 347 Dyno results with the old heads ( pre CNC) and with the Victor Jr. were 604.6 HP at 7400 and 492 ft/lbs at 5200-6400 with NO power adder. Since the CNC work, and going to the Super Victor, I estimate about 625-630 horse, but torque has probably dropped to around 430-440. The car really begins to pull hard at about 6500 RPM, and the N2O really gets it out of the hole by adding the lost torque at the bottom end. Launch RPM went from 5800 (old heads and intake) to 4600 N/A, but with N2O the converter flashes to 6600, shift point is 7800.
