oil getting in intake

I have an Edelbrock Performer intake and for whatever reason, I am getting oil inside the intake. Its clean at the throttle body but when I take the side cover off I am seeing puddles of oil. My pcv valve is fine. Ever since I have had this intake it has seemed to be like this. Also, my oil consumption was fine until I went and put a set of GT-40P heads (which were just rebuilt) and an E-303 cam. Now, when I am driving and happen to get into it I get a cloud of smoke. The smoke seems to be worse on the drivers side. I dont know what the rings were like because I didnt have the pistons out. The cylinder walls looked fine though. I didnt have this problem before I changed the heads and cam. Also, when I did all this I went from using normal 10w-30 oil to Castrol Synthetic 5w-30. Could this be why? Could the oil in the intake have anything to do with this?

well there is a metal baffel plate that should have been installed on the bottom of the lower intake right under the pcv valve this will keep it from sucking oil up through the pcv.
the baffel is held in place by two brads.
