price

Well im outa money, and i am very limited as to what i can do with my mustang. So im thinking about selling it, so i can at least make some profit to be able to start a new project.

I love the car and all, but its just not what i want right now. I want something i can get for really really cheap, and needs work. And that i can easily work on, and afford parts for. Also my neighbor has many extra parts for me to start a new engine project, and get whatever car i might buy, to go and go fast.

There is too much i have to do to the mustang to get it fast (it runs a pitiful 0-60mph in about 11.5 seconds), i dont have the money, and my mustang is just in too nice of stock condition to modify it anyways.

I was curious as to what you think its worth (many pictures on my website www.geocities.com/spddemontc ). According to the NADA appraisal guide these are the numbers:

Total Low Retail: $2,958
Total Average Retail: $5,623
Total High Retail: $10,790

And yes i know, a car is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. Thanks for your help.

Doon't do it

Dude, don't sell your car just because you don't have money at the time, eventually you'll get more money and you can do more things. Also if this is your first project you are going to hit snags just don't give up. Or at least think about it some more before you sell your car, going fast isn't the only thing good about a classic mustang.

What I hear you saying is you want to drive the car, put a little money in it and enjoy your teenage years. Sell the classic Mustang and buy a reliable economy car like a Honda Civic or Accord, Ford Escort, etc. Be sure to buy a model you can live with and be sure it is new or nearly new. What I mean is its better to buy a Hyundai sports car for $10K and drive it for 100,000 miles all under warranty then to spend the same $10K on fixing up your classic. When you're 16 you're looking for cheap miles and you'll not get them from a classic car.

To be perfectly honest... i just dont enjoy the car.... Its just not what i want. If i had another mustang totaly equal in quality and everything, that was pre-1970, id love it. I just dont like the complete blind spots, and how low i sit inside it, and just the overall body style could be a whole lot better. I dont even have a tape deck.

All i want right now is to build a drag car. Street legal (barely lol) drag car from scratch. I already have a little economy car , a 1987 chevy spectrum 4 door. I HATE HONDAS.

It was stupid of me to buy this mustang anyways, i had never seen it untill i had already paid for it. My parents and my uncle swore to me it was the best thing ever....... Im not gunna trust their oppinions on cars again.

And like i said before, my neighbor has engine parts for me, i wanna be able to use them.

Oh and before all of this, i was going to inherit my brother's 1997 honda civic ex with intake, exhaust, lowerd, with 95000 miles lol . I turned that offer down. Because i wanted to buy, what i wanted. I didnt really get to do that anyways. (i woulda taken the honda and sold it, but my parents already said they wouldnt let me).
