88 Mustang & 91 Dash
 

I bought a 91 Dash cluster on ebay and tryed to install it on my 88 GT, can you tell my why this wont work. The reading are all wrong except for RPm and when i pull the ebrake the RPM's drop?? Is there something i have to disconnect in order for it to work on my year>?

As far as I know, the '88 and '91 dash clusters are the same except for the 140mph speedo on the '91 dash.

88's had no airbag the 91 did. the 91 is wider where the steering column goes. hope that helped.

The diagrams in the link show you what pins you have to cross and relocate to make it work.

when ford integrated the airbag into the mustang in '90 they also changed the dash wiring the '90 up cluster won't work in an '87-'89 mustang but you can take the 140mph speedo out and make it fit but you will have to trim your old cluster a little bit to get it to fit right other than that you can't use the rest of it.
