That is sad in so many ways... :( I seen those things before. They are fairly pricey too. Can they take them away, or just tell you to take them off?
I hope the cop gave him a good beating, nothing like a bit of police brutality to smarten up a kid from ricing out a stang.

In the summer my buddy got a $115 ticket for having blue lights on his car, let's just say I still laugh to this day. :D

§am.

Crazy Horse GT 10-23-2002 11:26 PM

what's even funnier is his dad took the car away from him, he's only 17 the gt is sharp, but looks better now without those ricer valve stem covers. :D :D :D

digital3.3 10-23-2002 11:49 PM

yeah i imagine it does look much better without those lames lights. i seen a firebird with them on and i couldn't stop laughing, it look so stupid.

thdrcat 10-23-2002 11:55 PM

those damn lights may look stupid, but i am not so sure the cop was within his rights.

what if a cop came and took your cold air induction? just a thought.

NotchJohnson 10-24-2002 12:19 AM

The cops will do that if the lights are red or blue I believe. I dont know about all states, but I know a kid who put blue fog lights on his s10 extreme, a cop pulled him over and made him take them off right on the side of the road. I think they feel that the vehicle can be mistaken for a cop cars lights or something.

i agree man, the cop told him though the law was, if they stayed on all the time, no problem, but if they flash, - big problem, just another u. s. law i guess, but i still think neon flashing crap -sux. ;) :D :D :D

foxbodied 10-24-2002 02:46 PM

Yea they do that because it can be mistaken for cop cars or firdighters and **** like that.

i hope that some cop doesn't confiscate my red colored factory tail lenses on my way home from work today;)

bigred90gt 10-24-2002 03:52 PM

Personally I think those things are rediculous. But lets be realistic, how many cops have you ever seen with flashing red, or blue, valve stem covers, glowing windshield washer sprayers, or even blue, or red, green, whatever color, fog lights or head lights? Come to think of it, how many cops have you ever seen with fog lights at all?

I would never buy them and I think they are stupid, but that logic, especially coming from law enforcement themselves, is rediculous. Just my opinion.

NotchJohnson 10-24-2002 07:54 PM

cbring, you know what i mean. He said this kid had valve stem neons, whick could resemble flashing lights from a distance. As far as my example, how many cars do you know of that come with blue lights?

mustangII460 10-24-2002 10:02 PM

Tennessee Code: 55-9-414 Blue flashing lights on motor vehicles unlawful.

Most states have a very simular statue.

Good cop, do I get a doughnut??

Crazy Horse GT 10-24-2002 11:43 PM

mustangII460 10-24-2002 11:49 PM
