hey guys sorry but this had to be done ....i've been taking my new motor to the track lately pulled a 9.145 1/8th here rescently.I konow to many of you thats not too fast ,but all motor no N02 no F.I. v 6 in a FWD car thats 3750lbs loaded ,is pretty quick, not to mention 80+* weather with high humidity still ...there was this yellow GT 99+ body with the cobra R wing and something close to a roush body kit it looked clean,im thinking this thing must move...i asked the guy if he'd run me and asked what has he run.he said 9.3 i said cool i just ran a 9.3 standing near my car an acura cl typeS he goes "NO" sorta in disbelief...lol...i said ya i ran a 9.1 last week too but it turns out i have my golf clubs and an air compressor in my trunk i forgot about :D....so anyway turns out this guy cannot drive...first race he misses a gear i spun badly through first and went by him quickly in the last 200 ft a 9.8 to his 10.0 damn...next run apperently he was in third and just sat there i was like WTF ..9.2
3rd descent run went away from him at the end i did redlight but the printer had messed up and neither of us got a ticket...4th straight up both launch fine i ran my best of that night 9.214@78.37 with a .557 light (not too bad) to his 9.35* @?

hey guys i didnt come here to flame. some of you know me alittle .but no comments at all???....

95mustanggt 10-25-2002 01:04 PM

I'm not a big fan of the Type R Wing on anything but a 00 Cobra R.

As for his times, well, There are good drivers and there are bad drivers, this guy is obviously a bad driver.

What type of comment do you want us to make? I've seen plenty of CL-S make mid-high 15 sec runs, does that mean the car sucks or the driver sucks?? You tell me.

typeR 10-25-2002 05:41 PM

i dont know what i was looking for but mostly just thought you guys would appreciate the runs but not so much the look of that stang...it really wasnt that bad...i guess if he was pulling high 8's then i would have liked it better

If the guy is going to race the thing he needs to spend more time practicing and modifying it for speed and less time installing wings and valences.

...Just my opinion though

Nice times!

That stang is pretty damn ugly looking IMO. What ever happened to the mostly clean, stock, slightly modified exterior look?

ricers started figuring out they were wasting there time on 4 cylinders so the get gts so they can go fast but still put there body kits on so they can go a second faster in the 1/4 because of the aerodynamics of 200 lbs of plastic the hung on the front off the sides and on the back of there cars:rolleyes:

*Steeda90GT* 10-28-2002 08:43 AM

Ever notice the ricers at the track, they have ridiculous size wings(on FWD cars), heavy side skirts, full system in the trunk....then they remove their seats for weight savings...

Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the wing is?? typeR, perhaps you can help me out.

I'm not kidding here....

Its all about the looks, if anything the wing should be on the front of a FWD car. Putting it on the rear would just help in taking weight off the front drive wheels, which is what you dont want.

Looks...ok. And the 2 foot airfoil is supposed to make the car look like what? A formula 1 car? A 747? A dragster? I'm really at a loss as to what this fad is supposed to be about.

Pro or Sportsman?

That .557 Reaction TIme was it on pro or sportsman tree?

Dark_5.0 10-29-2002 03:18 PM

9.3's are about an average 1/8th mile time for a 99+ stang.

I am very impressed with your times considering your weight.

Good kill,
