Performance Chip?

My Dad just bought a 87 5.0 5 speed mustang he wants to know how to give it lots of horsepower without spending to much money its got some stuff intake exhuast msd ignition but where are sites or places that have computer chips or stuff to make it have more hp thanks

drtbiker 10-24-2002 10:55 PM

personally i think chips are a waste of money....but check out summitracing.com they have everything

later

if it already has some mods, tune it up, run 93 octane and advance the ignition timing, put some rear grs in, but gears arent the cheapest mod, but worth it.

I have an ADS chip I got for free, im glad cuz i wouldnt have paid for it, and currently have it pulled out, wanna buy it?

coupe50 great sugestion may i say the best mod on the stang is probally gears i went 14.2 @ 98mph stock with 3:73's

drtbkr what bodystyle is your car, hatch? yea i can say my car is light for being full interior, without my swaybar, with stock exhaust and flows went 13.91 one cool night on radials.

Well, since your closer to stock then totally modded like me :D maybe this suggestion is a little too advance for your setup, but it's good to know for future use. You can make the call.

www.tweecer.com

They have a "chip" that piggy-backs on your EEC. You connect it to your laptop/computer and edit the stock binary codes yourself. If you do a dramatic swap on your car, you can "reburn" the chip yourself without paying someone big bucks to do it. It's a little pricey, but worth the money. I like mine :) If you are not fimilar or comfortable with editing the cars computer, then I would not suggest this. If you decide to get it, I recommend www.madhatterracing.com and tell Hilary that I sent ya ;)

I agree, do your homework. Do they make a TwECCer that works on speed density?

all i have to say is gears and exhaust. the most if not only thing you should do first in your "stock" mustang.

Moc is correct. but dont listen to that PKRWUD, he tends to lie and has these fake pics of him with this oval track car:rolleyes: other than that, great place to learn!
