RR

Doesn't a GT40 crate motor come with Crane 1.7 RR? If not, that is what I would get if you are going to stick with the stock cam. You will need Pedestal Mount with your heads.

i havent pulled the valve covers off yet... it has a b303 cam in it if they are 1.7r arms i think they are stamped... i am not sure i think ill pull one off when i swap my intake today
thanks

Is the B-cam working good with the speed density? I was wondering if you got all the bugs worked out.

Later,

yeah it works pretty good a little lean from take off....if i dont have the throttle more than 1-5th open but other than that it pulls hard i cant wait until i put on the new intake

Well I haven't put these in the motor yet, so i can't tell you how they perform, but they are without a doubt the slickest, prettiest rockers i've ever had. I do hear good things about them too, thats why i picked them.

Scorpion Roller Rockers

yea i hear scorpion are good, my crane 1.7's should be in a day or two, i chose these because they are cheaper than most, maybe someone can say any good or bad they are, but i'll let you know how my install goes with the crane rr's, (see my post.

you said you got scorpian cuz they were the prettiest ones you ever saw... but how often you pop the hood and look at your roller rockers?

drtbiker 10-28-2002 02:00 PM

thats true about poping the valve covers off but t hey sure do look good. I wonder which ones better or do you think it is personal preferance.... what could be the differance inbetween crane 1.7, trick flow 1.7 and comp?

All the time doesn't everyone ??? :p

Ok, for you guys from NJ, by pretty i ment: well made, nice finish, nice shape, light, very smooth bearing movement and from all the feedback i've heard, just dam good rocker arms ... and well ... ya gotta admit they are pretty :D

J/K about the NJ thing ;)

If you're staying with the B cam then stay with 1.7's. If you are going to switch your cam then go with 1.6's and a bigger cam. You'll have better valvetrain geometry.

drtbiker-

Just curious...what intake are you putting on?

David Fulford 10-29-2002 06:41 PM

The GT-40 crates that come straight from Ford come with standard rockers unless you request an upgrade. I thought they came with roller rockers too and was very dissapointed when I pulled my valve covers off.

drtbiker 10-30-2002 12:58 AM

oh well i guess it just is another thing to add to the list boy this car is getting costly.........but on the other hand sure is fun to work on

later

oh yeah i have the typhoon intake simular to the edelbrock performer. i got it installed and have my stock tb still on and it pulls really hard at 4g
