Cam install question

Do you have to lift the engine for a cam install on a 92 coupe? Is there any easier way? What would it cost to have it done?

cam installation

the easiest way is to remove radiator and no, you don[t have to lift the engine. It may take sometimes to remove all those stuff infront of engine ( fan, water pump etc,. ) but do not forget, if you are not replace the heads at the same time, you are going to use air compressor to pump air into one of the spark plug hole to keep the valve from falling when you remove the cam! I do not know how much would it cost but if you have time and tools, I would do it myself.

on my cam install i pretty much took every front accessory off and upper & lower intake. there are a few ways to get around taking the lower intake off like 5000 cc stated but i took it off anyway just to clean some stuff up and to make sure everything went in smoothly. As for as the radiator it will have to be removed and you will have to unbolt the condensor and swing it out of your way. you do not have to disconnect any ac lines just swing it out of your way. it is a pretty simple job and it is real hard to mess up, just be careful and take your time. make sure to pick up a new ford motorsport timing chain also. good luck man

this is for changing valve springs not a cam, so dont getting confused by the previous posters remarks.
