Photochopped my car today...

hey everyone!!!!!! I've done some photoshop work to my '66. It took me a long time because I had to get every nook and crannie. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my turnout.

Also I don't mind compliments since this is my first actual photoshop work that I changed the paint of a car and added body parts too. If you have any photoshop tips to possibly make this pic better than let me know because I haven't learned everything that photoshop can do. Thanks.

I want your opinions on this color.
What auto paint color does this look closer too, Cobalt Blue or Sonic Blue?????

Here is the original pic:

Here is the finished result. btw those parts I added was the eleanor hood, side exhaust, and 17" chrome bullitt wheels.

First of all, how did you do the paint change , with keeping all the origional reflections? i cant figure that one out....

IT LOOKS GREAT! i love that color. I think regular cowel induction hoods look better though, or just the normal hood scoop... and i personally dont care for those wheels... but thats just my opinion...

id like to learn how to change the paint color of cars on photoshop... is it hard to do?

jdstang66 11-05-2002 01:56 AM

yeah, it can be hard to do when first learning to do it, but after you learn it you can practically do anything on photoshop.

go to this website and they teach you everything...

I like the eleanor hood for a few reasons, no rain on the engine, more room under the hood, and it looks majorly threatening. :D

The wheels I'm not 100% sure on because I don't even know if I can get enough clearance for those 17" wheels. What type of wheels do you recommend?

heres another one. This time I put the eleanor front valance on my stang as well.

worduphomefry 11-05-2002 06:35 PM

that's really good. are you acctually going to make these changes?

jdstang66 11-05-2002 06:50 PM

yes, and its probably going to be quite a long time and plenty money in the end to finish. I know in the end I'll have a car show winner.

vetteeatr 11-05-2002 09:06 PM

Thats just impressive. Great Ideas to I didnt think all the elenor parts really would look decent on a hardtop coupe but that changed my mind.
Personally if you could lower it a little i think it would look that much meaner as well as some wider rear tires. Rims I actually kinda like.

Nice Man

What operating system are you using??? You should not have uninstall your virus scanner anyway. Is it possible for you to just disable the virus scanner software? Press ctrl-alt-del one time and your task scheduler will show up. On that task schedule it should say the name of your virus software. Select it and then click end task. Then try installing Photoshop. Also another way to get the virus software off is to uninstall it through going start/settings/control panel/ and then click add/remove programs

Yes, worduphomefry I am using Photoshop7 to make these pics.

fordkid68 11-06-2002 01:03 AM

hey thanks that worked.

but now I seem to have another problem I can't save my work. I edited my car(well tried) and it wouldn't let me save the changes. I made sure that the box was selected on the photo I wanted to save but when I went to file it wouldn't let me select the save option. any sugestions on that.

sorry to keep bothering you guys with photo shop questions. I have tried to figure it out on that site you linked to up above but I couldn't.

thanks for all teh help. it is greatly appreaciated.

thanks
ford kid

I had that same problem saving my work too when I started. There are two types of saves. I'm not sure how I got passed this but I think I changed some thing on where I was saving it or changed the save name. Try the "save for web" option. You can select the type of graphic extension you want perferably .jpg not .gif since your doing pictures.

Photoshop makes it difficult to save any changes you make to a photo. Create a new layer and then make the changes to that layer. you can save it then. You'll still have the original layer but when stacked they show the changes you made as well.

I have always wanted to do something like this. I can't wait to get my hands on Photoshop 7, I checked out that site and it's awesome!!! I will post the results when I'm through....
