Help me tune my mustang
 

My car is not running so well. I think it is running rich be cause it smells like gas and it backfires (sounds like its comming for the headers) when i really step on the gas. Also I am getting a ticking sound from the engine. Is this detonation or do you think I might have to adjust my roller rockers? My plan is to check my fuel pressure, timming and do all the normal tune up things. Am I on the right track?

you will always run rich with an X cam...your overlap in the cam guarantees it.
I have the same issue with my b-cam...it'll always be a little rich.

valve train noise...
 

I think a little valve train noise is normal with a setup like yours.
I think it is also a good idea to check the things you are talking about and oil pressure and level. Could be a delivery issue.
